Ameren helps feed the hungry

Local News

TUSCOLA, Ill. (WCIA) — Ameren is doing more than keeping the lights on at one foodbank.

Monday, it donated nearly $4,000 and more than 1,200 canned goods to the Sam Food Pantry. Organizers say the pantry serves 600 – 700 people a month.

The donation should help keep them fed for months to come.

Ameren gives to different community groups every year, but this was the first year employees got involved.

Workers at the local branch brought in canned goods with the company donating an extra dollar for every item.
