THOMASBORO, Ill. (WCIA) — These students are lucky to be in one of the most exemplary schools in the state. It’s according to the 2018 Illinois Report Card; the state’s official source for public schools.
School leaders say their secret is good students and good parents.
Prairieview-Ogden Junior High School is a smaller school. Teachers also credit that to the good score. The math teacher says she even sees kids twice a day for lessons. She also makes sure to push everyone in her classes, no matter their ability.
The other Central Illinois schools named in the report were Monticello High School, White Heath Elementary School, St. Joseph Middle School, Bismarck-Henning Elementary School and Carrie Busey Elementary School.
There are almost 4,000 schools in the state; of those, only 376 were considered exemplary.
