3 teens arrested in shooting

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — Three teens face charges in a drive-by shooting. It happened May 20, in the 1000-block of South 8th Street.

A 17-year old female was identified as the driver and a 17-year old male was identified as a passenger. Authorities say both had prior knowledge of the shooter’s intention. Those teens were arrested Monday.

A 17-year old male, who police suspect is the shooter, was arrested Wednesday morning, without incident, by the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force, in the 500-block of West Allen.

All three face charges including aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon.

The alleged shooter faces additional charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a firearm with no FOID card. His bond is set at $750,000.

An 18-year old man was wounded in the shooting and remains in critical condition in the ICU. Officials say they expect he will recover from his injuries.
