DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — Three local men face criminal charges after being treated for injuries following a car crash and fire.
Police tried to conduct a traffic stop about 6 pm, Saturday, near Stroup and Main streets. The driver fled the scene and police started a pursuit. The driver lost control and hit a utility pole in the area of Main and Kansas streets.
When police removed the driver and three passengers from the vehicle, it erupted into flames. All four men were taken to the hospital for evaluation.
An investigation of the scene uncovered a handgun. When the men were cleared medically, all were questioned by police.
22-year old Jeremy Foreman, who was driving, is charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding, reckless driving and driving with a suspended license.
21-year old Dakota Patton is charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
28-year old Kevin Marshall is also charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and had an outstanding IDOC parole warrant.
A fourth man in the vehicle was 18. He was questioned as part of the investigation, but later released from police custody.
