3 arrested after shots fired & car chase

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — Three local men face multiple charges after a shooting and car chase.

About 3:40 pm, Sunday, an officer on patrol saw shots fired from a silver-colored vehicle. When he tried to pull the car over, the driver sped away.

Other officers responded to the chase which ended near Collett and Madison streets. Several suspects fled the vehicle while the driver stayed. He was identified as Devin Villarreal, 22.

Two men caught fleeing the scene are Jodavious Jones and Tyree Johnson, both 19. Police say two firearms were found during the subsequent investigation.

All three face charges for aggravated discharge of a weapon; Villarreal and Jones also face charges for unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.

Villarreal is also charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding.

Jones is also charged with obstructing and resisting a police officer.

Johnson is also charged with unlawful use of a weapon, obstructing and resisting a police officer.
