CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — A new bike program allows you to get anywhere you need to go if you’ve got 15 minutes and 50 cents.

You get the app, reserve a bike and you can hold it for ten minutes. You scan to unlock it, then scan it, ride it, then just push the button on the bike lock and park at any bike rack.

There are several ways to get to class on the UI campus. You can walk, skateboard, take a bus, but some are taking advantage of the VeoRide sharing program.

Students say it’s easy and helps them get to classes on time. It was approved by the city council earlier this summer.

There are some rules including where you can and can’t park and how to follow the rules of the road when riding a bike.

If there’s a problem, such as a bike being parked improperly, the company’s contact information is on the bike. Someone will come retrieve the bike.

You can pay as you ride, $0.50 for 15 minutes; or pay by the day, month or year.
