2 juveniles in custody after shooting

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — Two juveniles are in custody after a report of shots fired. It happened about 5:30 pm, Friday, January 25, in the 2000-block of East Jackson.

When police arrived, they discoverd a disturbance at a nearby business involving at least five males. One juvenile produced a gun and handed it to a second juvenile who fired numerous shots at victims. No one was hurt.

Both juveniles were found; the first later Friday night, the second Monday night.

The first juvenile is charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm without a FOID card.

The second juvenile, who fired the shots, is charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm. No other information regarding any other suspects was released.
