VERMILION COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — A Hoopeston man was sentenced to 10-years in prison on drug charges.

Aaron Cannon pleaded guilty to the class X felony of delivery of methamphetamine (7-years) and the class 3 felony of possession of the same substance (3-years).

Cannon was arrested June 4 for possession during a traffic stop. Two weeks later, June 21, a search warrant was executed at his home on Chestnut Street, for which he was arrested on the more serious charge.

Cannon had a prior conviction for possession of methamphetamine in 2017 and received first offender probation at that time. Cannon admitted violating probation and was resentenced to two years to run concurrently with the others.
