1 dead when shots fired during fight

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — The name of a man shot to death has been released.

36-year old Steven Suber, of Springfield, was pronounced dead about 1:45 am, Wednesday. He was shot while at a home on Oakdale Street.

Police are investigating it as a homicide. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers. You can remain anonymous and may earn a cash reward.

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — Police are investigating a fatal shooting. It happened about 1:15 am, Wednesday, in the 1100-block of Oakdale Drive.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a male in the roadway. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities say people were involved in a disturbance and confrontation at the residence which resulted in shots being fired and the male being killed. The motive is not known. The victim’s identity has not been released.
