$1.5M bond for man trying to solicit murder

VERMILION COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — A man already in custody is getting another charge: solicitation of murder for hire.

23-year old Bradley Servis is accused of trying to hire someone to murder the victim in his pending case. Police say he did it through an undercover agent from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

Servis was attempting to find someone to murder a woman for him while he’s awaiting trial. The woman is the victim in a hate crime he’s charged with. That crime happened last summer.

He’s also being charged with arson and criminal damage to property. The state’s attorney says they have phone recordings of a conversation in the Public Safety Building.

Servis made an agreement with an undercover officer and a third person they’re not disclosing. The conversation talks about arranging for the woman to be killed for a certain amount of money.

Servis was in bond court last week and is being held on $1.5 million. He now faces an additional 40-years in prison for his new charges.
