Lawsuit seeks $10M in fatal trooper crash

MACON COUNTY — A lawsuit has been filed against the state trooper involved in a fatal crash in May.

Sergeant Jeff Denning was on his way to Mahomet after a police officer was shot.

In Decatur, he collided with 26-year old Kelly Wilson, who died from her injuries.

The lawsuit alleges Trooper Denning was going more than 100 mph and did not use his sirens.

The suit seeks damages in the amount of $10 million.
