IPI wants lawmakers to consider budget proposal

News

ILLINOIS — The Illinois Policy Institute announced an opposing budget to the Senates grand bargain. It’s goal is to balance the budget without any tax increases.

The Senate’s budget includes an income tax increase along with other ways to increase revenue. IPI believes its ideas will be accepted by lawmakers because of the state’s financial problems.

IPI is looking for sponsors in the General Assembly to propose its budget. The Senate plans to vote on its budget in February.
