ILLINOIS (WCIA) — Did you fill up your gas tank Wednesday? If not, you should have. Gas prices jumped 30-cents overnight. At many stations around Central Illinois, they’re topping out at $2.99.

It appears we can’t blame the increase on the new gas tax, but rather something 1,000 miles away. Tropical Storm Barry apparently is the cause of the additional impact on your wallet.
