daves harvest story

ILLINOIS (WCIA) — With harvest season here, farmers are about to see what kind of season it was after a rough summer.

The USDA reports crops are maturing more quickly in Illinois than compared to last year. About 12 percent of corn and four percent of soybeans have been harvested so far. That’s above the seasonal average. Farm Bureau officials said the recent hot and dry weather is perfect for harvesting.
