ILLINOIS (WCIA) — It’s National Farm Safety and Health week, and farmers are making sure everyone makes this harvest a safe one. The week is an opportunity to spread awareness of the risks farmers face each and every time the go into the fields. This year the theme is “Shift farm safety into high gear.”
More than 580 workers in agriculture died in 2017, making it one of the most dangerous professions in the nation.
