THOMASBORO — An early morning fire will cost a farmer hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage. Just after 2 am, Tuesday, multiple crews responded to a farm on County Road 1600 East.
A shed on the property was in flames. The owner says it houses an antique tractor, combine and RV. While crews put the fire out quickly, damage is still estimated at $220,000.
The owner believes the fire was started by a battery charger hooked up to the RV. Officials say to make sure you check your equipment before putting it away.
The cause is still under investigation to see if the farmer’s suspicions are correct.
