TOLONO, Ill. (WCIA) — Water was restored after a water main break Tuesday afternoon.
Officials said JCCI, out of Effingham, was running cable TV wires underground when they accidentally hit the water main near Boone and Larmon.
Crews attempted to drain the water, but neighbors said there was nowhere for it to go.
“There’s no place to drain the water main. I mean we got one water main here for the whole two blocks and it’s been like this. I’ve tried for over 4 years to get it changed. When it floods, it circles my whole house,” said Ferell Strack of Tolono.
A boil order is still in effect. Water will e shut off at noon Wednesday for permanent repairs. The village said they will notify people when the boil order is over.
