URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — Illinois State Police said a Villa Grove man was taken to the hospital after a 3-vehicle crash.

In a news release, troopers said the crash happened around 11:45 a.m. along Illinois Route 130, just north of Curtis Road. They stated a 2006 Ford Focus was traveling north on Rt. 130, near Curtis Road, directly behind a straight truck. A 2019 Chevrolet Colorado was traveling south on the road in the same area.

For an unknown reason, the Focus did not slow down and hit the rear of the straight truck. The Focus then went into the southbound lane and hit the Colorado.

The driver of the Focus was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries. They were ticketed with failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
