MATTOON, Ill. (WCIA) — No one was hurt after a fire at a hotel Monday evening.

It happened at the Baymont Inn on Route 16. Crews were called out at 6:11 p.m. to find fire coming from the west side of the building. They said the fire was mostly contained to the roof.

Two people were inside when crews arrived, but they were able to get out on their own.

The State Fire Marshall is investigating what started the fire, but officials said the hotel will be closed for some time due to the extent of the damage.
