Crews respond to house fire

Champaign County

RANTOUL, Ill. (WCIA) — Crews are battling a house fire.

Calls went out around 5:30 for a fire at a home in the 400 block of W. Champaign Avenue. A giant hole could be seen on one side of the home.

Firefighters say the fire started in the basement. No one was hurt.

Another fire broke out at a second home that happened to be behind the house on Champaign Ave. Crews say that fire was unrelated.

This is a developing story. WCIA’s Jared Farmer is at the scene and will share the latest updates.
