PEORIA — Caterpillar’s global headquarters is moving. Company officials announced Tuesday, they’ll be setting up in Chicago.
300 employees will also make the move. A spokesperson said they decided on a different location since most sales are outside the U.S. and they wanted to be closer to a travel hub.
Leaders say, even though the headquarters is moving, Peoria will still be CAT’s hometown.
They say it’s a decision they’ve been considering for a while, but recently got approval. The current headquarters will continue to be used as offices.
