ILLINOIS — It may soon be cheaper to start a business in the state.

The Senate passed a bill lowering the cost of starting a limited liability company. Right now, it can cost as much as $500 to start an LLC. The bill would reduce the amount to about $35.

Supporters say it’s a good way to attract businesses to the state.

The bill passed unanimously and now heads to the House for consideration where it’s likely to pass as well.
