Building approved to be torn down

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA)– The city is preparing to tear down an old building near downtown. It’s near the intersection of West Harrison and North Oak Streets. The demolition was approved by the council at a recent Public Works Committee Meeting. It’s being torn down because it’s dangerous and deteriorating. People who work nearby say they have seen improvements to the area.

They expect the contractor to start tearing the building down on Harrison Street in April.
