UPDATE (7:26 P.M.) — The outage map shows power has been restored for nearly everyone affected by Tuesday’s outage in Champaign.

Ameren officials said they had to “take an outage” in order to safely repair a pole in the area Springfield and Mattis near the Barn Shopping area. They said the pole was damaged by strong winds in the area.

Now, 26 customers in Urbana are waiting for their power to be restored. Officials said that should be done around 9 p.m.
