Algae not harmful

VERMILION COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — After the water at the Salt Fork River turned green, the EPA said test results came back saying it wasn’t a harmful algal bloom.

Water samples were taken on Friday, and preliminary results came back Wednesday. Neighbors say the water is a shade of green they’ve never seen before, along with a lot of dead fish. The EPA said it may be green algae, which is normal.
