UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS — 20,000 jobs could be headed to the state thanks to a new research lab at UI.
State AG leaders joined lawmakers and school officials on campus Monday. They were talking about the Integrated Processing Research Facility.
They’ll be looking at new ways of making plastic products using corn and beans. Some say it’s a huge opportunity for Central Illinois.
Officials say they hope to have the facility open by the end of this year or early next.
