Additonal staff for drug court program

MACON COUNTY — County officials are continuing the fight against drug addiction.

Officials want to add an additional probation officer to its drug court program. They only have one right now. This person would help with their At-Risk Services Program.

There are more than 60 people enrolled and 15 waiting to get in. The director says extra staff would mean more people getting the help they need.
The idea still needs approval from the Macon County Board. This position would be paid for through money given by the Howard G. Buffett foundation — and will cover the position for a year.
