“Backpack Attack” gives kids free school supplies

News

DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — The YMCA gave out more than 2,000 backpacks stuffed with school supplies to kids in need on Saturday.

During the 10th annual “Backpack Attack” event, students K-6th grade came by to pick up a pack for free. They also had obstacle courses and face painting for the families.

Local businesses helped to make this possible through their sponsorship.
