URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — A house fire in Urbana is being investigated.
It happened on Boudreau Drive near Illini Circle Tuesday morning. There was heavy smoke and fire blowing out of the windows.
Firefighters were able to get it under control in less than 10 minutes.
The fire chief said snow usually makes their job trickier, but not on Tuesday.
“You know, luckily it’s not snowing a whole lot right now, so those challenges are the travel to the scene and stuff, because the roadway could be slick,” said Urbana Fire Chief Chuck Lauss. “Another thing is that it gets really cold, we have to worry about the water freezing.”
The house had heavy smoke damage and some from fire. The fire chief said there were three dogs inside the house. One was hurt and the other two did not make it.
