Health department reports 9 new COVID-19 cases


MACON COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — The Macon County Health Department reported nine new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday.

In a news release, officials also announced three additional patients were released from isolation.

In total, there are 783 COVID-19 cases in the county, including 24 deaths. Of those total deaths, 492 have been released from isolation while 251 remain isolated at home.

Currently, there are 16 county residents with the virus that are in the hospital.
