Seven year old shows off his talent on the links

Junior Golf

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — The Masters is truly one of golf’s great spectacles.

The annual tournalment started by Bobby Jones in the 1930’s has long been the gold standard on the PGA Tour.

The Masters Tournament along with the USGA and PGA of America started a drive, pitch, and putt competition for juniors back in 2013 in an effort to grow the game.

Each year dozens of kids advance through local and regional qualifying for a chance to compete at Augusta National.

We introduce you to a local standout who is well on his way to a career on the links.

Seven year old Isaiah Roundtree has already made a name for himself in the golf world.

He picked up his first set of clubs at just three years old.

Isaiah has already won several medals and placed second at Effingham’s drive, chip, and put competition.
