The first causes quite a racket, in a good way, on the tennis court. Serena Williams is definitely a name most people recognize. Williams is known for being part of quite the dynamic duo with her sister, Venus. She’s also got sponsorships with big companies, like Nike. Williams’ total earnings is $28.9 million.
Next up is Maria Sharapova. She’s a famous Russian tennis player and definitely feared on the court. She’s ranked as the world’s third best tennis player by the Women’s Tennis Association. Recently, she was suspended for failing a drug test at the Australian Open, but her total earnings are a whopping $21.9 million.
This woman has been wrestling with success ever since she stepped into the ring. Ronda Rousey comes in as one of the most successful female athletes as a mixed martial artist, judoka and even an actress. She was the first U.S. woman to earn an Olympic medal in judo for the 2008 Summer Games, in Beijing. Her total earnings: $14 million.
This next female athlete is certainly revved up about her career. Danica Patrick is known for breaking stereotypes in the world of NASCAR. She’s an American professional car racing driver, a model and spokeswoman. Total earnings: $13.9 million.
Agnieszka Radwanska is known for her serious success on the court. Radwanska is a Polish professional tennis player. Her high point was ranking number two in singles in July 2012. She’s currently ranked number four by the Women’s Tennis Association. Total earnings are $10.2 million.
Last, but not least, is Caroline Wozniacki. Tennis players seem to be taking over when it comes to athletic success. Wozniacki is a Danish tennis player. She used to hold the first ranking by the WTA Tour and held the spot for more than 60-weeks. She’s the first from a Scandinavian country to hold the top spot. Total earnings: $8 million.
