Kaitlyn joined the WCIA 3 Team in the spring of 2017 as a reporter.
Being a proud “Military Brat,” she grew up on and around Air Force Bases, including bases located in Germany, Japan, Hawaii, New Mexico, Nevada, and Virginia. Exposure to different cultures and different regions has been a gift for her. This experience instilled in her a love of meeting new people and learning their stories.
After years of swimming and cheerleading, Kaitlyn finished high school and moved Colorado to attend CSU. She majored in technical communications and minored in business. She worked at the collegiate award-winning CSU station, where she fell in love with reporting and knew it would be the perfect career to match her adventurous spirit.
Before coming to Champaign, Kaitlyn worked as a reporter at WVII ABC 7 and WFVX Fox 22. She considers honoring veterans while on assignment to cover Wreaths Across America and laying wreaths at Arlington National Cemetery as the highlights of her time in Maine.
Kaitlyn enjoys reading, various sports, and eating all kinds of foods! She considers learning all things about the Midwest as her newest adventure. Is chocolate-covered fried bacon with sprinkles really a thing here in Illinois?
