The Junior League of Champaign-Urbana is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
Junior League of Champaign Urbana is hosting trivia event at the City Center in Champaign on Thursday January 26th at 7pm. You can play individually or on a team of up to four people. The event is open to everyone, both men and women! Raffle tickets will be sold for a variety of items and a prize will be awarded to the winning team!!! Tickets are available for $10 in advance ($15 at the door). Food Tickets are available for $8 in advance ($10 at the door). Menu for food tickets includes wings, egg rolls, and cheese curds. The proceeds go to support projects right here in the local community such as Bright Starts and Kids in the Kitchen. Junior League Bright Starts provides monthly preschool academic instruction and social-emotional skill building to children who are on a preschool waiting list and provide their parents/guardians with ideas to reinforce these skills at home. The program includes the whole family by providing dinner at the start of each session and childcare for siblings. Bright Starts takes place at the Urbana Early Childhood Center. Kids in the Kitchen is designed to help communities address the urgent issues surrounding childhood obesity and poor nutrition by empowering youth to make healthy lifestyle choices. It takes place at the Don Moyer Boys and Girls Club.
