This spring brings the ultimate ballet to Champaign…Swan Lake.
This passionate story of fated love delivers magnificent choreography danced
to the music of Tchaikovsky. The story centers around a Prince who discovers his true love,
the swan princess Odette, who suffers under the spell of a sorcerer and the deception of his
daughter, the black swan Odile. Sets and costumes—all handmade by local volunteers—
colorfully detailed in medieval style, blend with the ethereal world of the white swans to
produce a visually stunning theatrical performance about the powers of magic, love, and
fate. Lavish and deeply affecting, this timeless and beautiful ballet is a must-see.
