The Middle Fork River, which flows through Vermilion County, is a body of water that is truly one of a kind. It is the only river in Illinois that has been designated a National Scenic River. Saturday, the water conservation group Prairie Rivers Network will host a special event called Day at the Fork, which will help to raise awareness about the river.
“It’s an event to get people out in nature to celebrate this wonderful river and this beautiful place.” says Jeff Kohmstedt of Prairie Rivers Network.
The Day at the Fork will take place on Saturday May 19th and will run from 9am to 3pm at the Kickapoo State Recreation Area. For more information, you can visit the Prairie Rivers Network website.
