Matt and Heather talk to Hailey Niemerg and Riley Strohl from Washington Savings Bank about a business opportunity for kids. Washington Savings Bank offered a new program called WSB Summertime CEO which allowed children ages 6-12 an opportunity to manage and run their own lemonade stand. The program ran from May 22 to July 31 this year.
Just like a real business, participants filled out an application and were interviewed at any of the Washington Savings Bank locations. Once approved, applicants received their lemonade stand kit, which included cups, a pitcher, lemonade mix, sanitizing wipes, a WSB Summertime CEO button and $2.00 start-up cash. The kits were available while supplies last, with a limit of one kit per family.
Also included in the kits was an Income Statement that participants filled out and returned to the bank. Once completed and returned by August 19th, the young CEOs will receive a certificate of completion and their picture placed on the WSB Summertime CEO Hall of Fame.
Be on the lookout for next summer!
