Restaurant Owners Revamp Kids Menu with Help of Six Year Old Daughter

Grilled salmon, petite filet, and roasted root vegetables aren’t offerings you would expect to find on an average kids menu. However, at Firefly Grill in Effingham, the kids menu is all about being a departure from chicken fingers and grilled cheese.

Recently, Firefly owners Niall and Kristie Campbell decided they wanted to change their approach to the kids menu. It is why they enlisted the help of their six year old daughter Camden. Together, they worked as a team to create a unique menu. It is something the family says they enjoyed getting to do together.

“To be able to come together as a family and slow down, its created quite a bit of quality time.” says Niall Campbell.

In addition to revising the menu, the Campbells also looked for ways to give back to the community. Through the rest of 2018, the restaurant is partnering with John Boos and Co. of Effingham to help support No Kid Hungry. Anyone who visits the restaurant and donates $25 will receive a mini cutting board from the restaurant. Firefly is also accepting donations of any amount which will be contributed to No Kid Hungry.
