PetNet saw a need to help local animals that don’t thrive in a shelter environment.
We continue to build up a network of foster homes so that pets can be in a home while they’re waiting for their forever homes. We don’t see ourselves as competitors to other rescue groups; in the pet rescue world, we all have to work together. There are just different niches of need.
*Fostering an animal in need is very rewarding. We are extremely grateful to our network that voluntarily opens their homes to animals in need. Some cases are easy, while others require more patience and attention. Some animals are adopted in a matter of days while others may take months. Every animal in unique and therefore so is their foster experience. Sometimes when an animal gets adopted it can be hard to let them go (each of us has experienced that more than once!), but our fosters know that the successful adoption of one animal means that there is room for another to be saved.
Balls4Paws Fundraiser (through April 6) – Owen and Emmy Mahannah came up with this idea! They collected new and gently used tennis balls, have bundled them up into sets of four, and are selling them to raise funds for PetNet! We’re super proud of these awesome kids and how much they care for rescue pets.
*Parachute4Pets (May 13 and 14 at the Paxton Municipal Airport) – Yoga4Cats and the Illinois Skydiving Center have teamed up to offer this fun opportunity to sky dive and will donate the profits to PetNet.
*Our friends at Potbelly Sandwich Shop on Green Street are kind enough to host a fundraising night once a month for PetNet. We receive 25% of food sales on those nights! Check our facebook page for upcoming dates!
