When it comes to fall in Central Illinois, there are plenty of places to take in the colors. Most of the places to catch these yellows and reds are on solid ground, but being able to instead take to the water can offer a whole new perspective on the fall colors.
Sgt. John Williamson with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources spends his days patrolling Clinton Lake. It can be a difficult job at times, but during the fall, it is beautiful to be able to take in the fall colors while at work.
“One of the really cool things about being out here this time of year is that it isn’t just getting to see the fall colors, its getting to see just how amazingly peaceful the lake actually is.” says Williamson.
Throughout the fall, being able to take in the colors on Clinton Lake is beautiful to see. In addition to being on the water, their are also many places to see the colors on land at Clinton Lake State Recreation Area. For more information, you can visit their website
