The Decatur Public Library has more in store than books. They offer a few activities from arts and crafts to yoga and book sales.

The Decatur Public Library is finishing up their Winter Reading Program. All participants have to do is read and log in their reading times. Readers must have a minimum of six hours. All reading logs are due by March 31st.

Looking for a way to upcycle your old books? The Decatur Public Library hosts Krafty Things with Katie. This event is March 8th at 8 p.m. The library will provide all the materials to make a unique planter from an old book and fresh succulents.

The library is also hosting their Second Annual Tournament of Books. Participants vote on 32 books and series over a five week period. The votes will decide the weekly winners, and which titles move on. The library offers brackets to fill out to predict the winners. Anyone using the brackets can compete for prizes.

Also on this list of events: Young Adult Readers Art Contest. This is offered to readers 12 to 18-years-old. Individuals have an opportunity to share their original book inspired art pieces. Selected pieces will be displayed around the library.

The Decatur Public Library also hosts Yoga from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. every Tuesday from January to August. The sessions are held in the Madden Auditorium.
