A Decatur mom is looking to give her daughter a 10th birthday present that will be filled with special memories. Briana Singh has a condition known as Alexander Disease. It is a rare neurological condition that has caused her to have seizures and progressively lose her ability to walk. While it is a serious disease that has had a major impact on her life, she maintains her positive attitude.
“She shows me how strong she can be. I never thought I could be as strong as I am but she is the one who has taught me how to be strong.” says Bri’s mom Stephanie Singh.
Now, Stephanie is working to raise money to take Bri to Disney World for her upcoming birthday.
“I asked her one thing she wanted to do for her 10th birthday and she said she would like to go back to Disney World. So, that is where we are going to go.” says Stephanie Singh
Bri previously had a chance to travel to Disney World thanks to Make a Wish. Now that her family is trying to go back, they are working to raise funds to help cover the expense of tickets and of transporting Bri to Orlando. They will be hosting a 5K Walk and Run on April 28th at 8:45am at Fairview Park in Decatur. It will be a fundraising opportunity as well as a chance for people to meet Bri and learn about Alexander Disease.
