Local restaurant prides itself on good food and good company

A restaurant in central Illinois prides itself on making most of their meals from scratch!

Here’s more from Scratch:

Basically, long story short, Jan was a director at a community mental health center and decided to retire and go back to her restaurant roots. When I was growing up, she was always in the business. She managed Pickles for many years and even had her own café in Gifford.

Then came SCRATCH. It was actually built from scratch. We started with an old office building with drop ceilings, blue carpet, and more paneling than you could imagine. We were able to strip it down to it’s original hardwood floors and tin ceiling to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere for a casual but quality dining experience.

WE are a family friendly table service restaurant in downtown St joe. We encourage friends and family to come in and have a nice meal and a beer or glass of our house made sangria. Most of our menu is fresh and made from scratch. Anything from soups, salads, and sandwiches, to steak and seafood dinners. We serve a country style dinner on Wednesdays and always a grilled fish special on Fridays. We have something for everyone. Finish things off with one of our homemade dessert.

We are starting something new to help out the always on the go families in our community.

Curb Side To Go starts Tuesday 10/23 from 4-8pm

You can find Scratch at
