Matt and Heather talk to Georgina Cheng, MD, PhD, from Carle about the importance of Cervical Cancer Awareness Month.

January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month. One of the main causes of this type of cancer is the Human Papilloma Virus or HPV. HPV is a sexually transmitted disease that can cause cancer in both men and women and is the leading cause of cervical cancer. There is a vaccine that reduces the risk of infection and is available for males and females ages 9 through 26.
