It’s been years since Brett Eldredge first saw his name shining bright on a concert venue marquee, but even after tours around the world and plenty of number one songs, he has never forgotten his hometown roots.
Eldredge had an opportunity to return home to Paris earlier this month while filming for CMT’s Hometown Heroes special. It was an opportunity for him to give back to his community by performing a free concert in Ernie Evenland Gym at the old Paris High School. For Eldredge, it was an incredible opportunity.
“I watched my whole family play ball right here. I heard all the stories about all the crazy things that have happened in this gym and just the real life that happens in this place.” Says Eldredge.
During the concert, Eldredge told the crowd the impact that a childhood in Paris had on his music and the way he lives his life. To be able to bring his music back to where it all began was something he says was very exciting.
“To be able to come back to this gym as a fan and as a singer and to be able to have a whole line of proud hometown people this is why I do what I do.” Says Eldredge
The Hometown Heroes special will air Friday March 31st on CMT.
