“Big Game” Party Platters with Pan and Cake Catering Co.

Pan and Cake Catering Co. is a new catering company in the Champaign-Urbana market. The company opened in June of last year and specializes in weddings, corporate events, and private parties. By popular demand, they are also expanding to include special occasion drop-off items without minimum purchase required, such as their upcoming Super Bowl platters that we will highlight, and private and group cooking classes for both children and adults.

Pan and Cake Catering Company prides themselves on food that both looks and tastes great – they say you eat with your eyes first and we take that very seriously. From stunning station displays to elaborately plated meals, our goal is to make you look good and impress your guests.


We LOVE homemade pretzels and there is nothing better than a delicious, juicy burger on a homemade pretzel bun. We have a super easy way for you to make homemade pretzel slider buns at home without having to make your own homemade bread dough, which can sometimes be a pain.

Using frozen dinner roll dough, we skip the step of making your own yeasted bread dough, saving both time and effort, and then follow the rest of the pretzel-making steps. We love this method because it combines the extra soft and fluffy texture of a slider bun with the amazing flavor of a pretzel.

Place frozen dinner roll dough (such as Rhodes) on a pan coated with cooking spray and allow to rise at room temp for about 3-5 hours or until doubled in size.
Combine 10 cups of water and 2/3 cups of baking soda in a large pot and bring to a boil.
Working in batches, place the pretzel rolls in the boiling water for about 30 seconds. Remove them from the water using a large flat spatula and return them to the sheet pans.
In a small bowl or measuring cup, beat one egg yolk with one tablespoon of water. Brush each pretzel roll with the egg mixture and sprinkle with coarse salt.
Bake pretzels at 450 degrees until dark golden brown in color, about 10 minutes.

Our large platters offer the best value at just $5 per person, serving up to 15 people. This is an extremely affordable way to ensure that your Superbowl party has incredible food without the hassle of worrying about cooking.

Chicken Wing Platter
If you like wings, then you will love this generous stack of bone-in chicken wings and drummies smothered in our favorite buffalo sauce and served with Pan and Cake’s famous house-made ranch, celery, and blue cheese crumbles.

Gourmet Slider Platter
A trio of gourmet sliders to include: 
– Shawnae’s Favorite: BBQ pulled pork with cole slaw
– Tiffaney’s Favorite: Bacon Cheeseburger with fancy sauce
– Josie’s Favorite: Buffalo chicken with pepper jack cheese and ranch
All served on house-baked pretzel rolls

Custom Nacho​ Platter
House-fried, seasoned corn tortilla chips served build-it-yourself style with:
– Pork Barbacoa or
– Chili Lime Chicken
– White Queso
– Sour Cream
– House-made salsa
– Cilantro
– Pickled jalapeños

Soft Pretzel Platter
Soft house-made salted pretzel knots served with a trio of sauces:
– Housemade marinara
– Warm beer cheese
– Creamy stone-ground mustard sauce
