Sarah Lehman joined the WCIA news team in June 2021. She is born and raised in southeastern Indiana. So, she is a Midwest girl through and through. She is excited to make Illinois her home and tell your stories.
Growing up in the tri-state area of Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky, Sarah had her fill of great news and storytelling. In high school is where she truly found her passion for this career. Every morning she would broadcast the morning announcements, sports and weather for the day to her entire school.
Sarah attended Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. Where she was a huge part of the student run media, Newslink. She graduated in 2018 with a dual major in Telecommunication and Journalism with a concentration in News. From there she started her broadcast career not far from here, in Terre Haute at WTHI. Where she covered everything from county fairs to federal executions.
When Sarah’s not covering a story for WCIA you can find her trying out local restaurants, exploring Central Illinois and binging whatever she’s watching on Netflix.
If you have a story idea, or recommendation for Sarah to try in the area feel free to reach out to her on social media!
