Marley Capper joined the WCIA news team as the Weekend Anchor and Reporter in December of 2021. She was born and raised in sunny Southern California, but quickly became a Southern Belle after her time in Texas.
She is no stranger to the state of Illinois, as her mother grew up on Scott Air Force Base, so she is excited to make Illinois her home and tell your stories.
Marley attended Texas Christian University, where she graduated with a degree in Political Science, and in Broadcast Journalism. She was a leader in her universities broadcast, TCU 360, and was able to work for CBS11 in Dallas/Fort Worth. She started her career not far from campus, in Abilene, Texas at KTAB/KRBC. She covered state, county and local politics, breaking news, and more.
When Marley’s not anchoring or reporting, you can find her hanging with her college friends who live close by, singing at church, working out, and trying new restaurants.
If you have a story idea, or recommendation for Marley to try in the area feel free to reach out to her on social media!
