Jessica Kunz decided she wanted to be a reporter at the age of 8. She has a passion for people and telling stories that impact their lives.
Jessica joined the team in October of 2014. She anchors the 10 p.m. newscast on WCIA and the 9 p.m. newscast on WCIX. She joined the Champaign newsroom after a stint in the State Capitol bureau in Springfield.
Jessica started her career at the ABC affiliate in her hometown of Erie, PA.
She graduated summa cum laude from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in May 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication, and specializations in broadcast journalism and public relations.
During college, Jessica participated in Edinboro’s student-run television station as a reporter, anchor and producer. She also co-hosted a radio show on WFSE 88.9 Fighting Scots Radio for 4 years.
Jessica interned at JET 24/FOX 66 in Erie. She also interned at WPVI-TV in Philadelphia as a Social Media Marketing intern in their Creative Services department.
In her free time, Jessica enjoys running, reading and exploring Central Illinois.
